Wildflower Well-Being Professional Development Training

Teacher CPD in Hong Kong: Regulation, Well-Being & Nervous System-Informed Classroom Practices

Wildflower Well-Being delivers professional development (CPD) for schools that supports teachers to create calmer, more regulated and emotionally supportive classrooms - whilst also supporting their own health and well-being.

Our CPD programs equip teachers with practical, evidence-informed tools that can be seamlessly integrated into everyday classroom routines — supporting student well-being, learning and behaviour, while also protecting teacher energy and capacity.

This training is designed for real classrooms, not idealised scenarios. Created for teachers by an experienced teacher.

Our CPD Supports Teachers to Make Real, Day-to-Day Changes in the Classroom

Wildflower CPD focuses on practical strategies that work in real classrooms, with real children, under real pressures.

Teachers learn how to:

  • Set the tone for calm and safety at the start of the day and between lessons, using simple regulation practices that take one to three minutes and do not disrupt learning time

  • Use breathing and movement techniques that help children settle quickly, transition smoothly, and return to focus after moments of dysregulation

  • Recognise early signs of stress and overwhelm in children, allowing teachers to respond before behaviour escalates

  • Respond to challenging behaviour with clear, regulation-informed strategies that reduce power struggles and support emotional safety, rather than relying on punitive approaches

  • Create classroom environments that support attention, engagement, and learning readiness, particularly for children who find it hard to sit still, concentrate or self-regulate

  • These approaches are tried, tested and refined by Laura through years of hands-on work in classrooms — shaped by the realities teachers are currently facing, not outdated models or idealised scenarios.

  • Practices are developmentally-appropriate, time-efficient and immediately usable, whether in early years, primary classrooms, or as part of a whole-school approach. Teachers leave with tools they can use the very next day, without additional preparation or  equipment.

In Hong Kong's high-pressure academic environment, the mental well-being of students is a growing concern.

Recent studies indicate that approximately 25% of children and adolescents have experienced at least one mental health issue in the past year, with anxiety and depressive disorders being notably prevalent.

Nearly 90% of students preparing for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination reported that personal expectations often caused them stress.

By empowering educators with these tools, schools can foster a supportive environment that prioritizes both teacher and student well-being, addressing mental health proactively and effectively.

Testimonial

"I could not have been happier with the course! Laura is so passionate and has such an extensive amount of experience in both Early Years Education and in yoga which was so evident in her teacher training.

Everything was taught openly, genuinely and completely from the heart.

I felt that she gave all her students the tools they needed to open their minds to how they approach teaching young children.

I left the training feeling confident and excited about the prospect of applying what I had learned to any situation. It wasn't just power point presentations listing different activities, it was a whole new way of looking at teaching children".

- Gemmarie, Early Years Educator

"The experience was fantastic. I can honestly say that the learning, the inspiration and the community that I have made on this training has been of the most personally fulfilling of any of the training I have ever done.

Outcomes for Schools

Schools that work with Wildflower Well-Being consistently report immediate and meaningful impact. Teachers regularly share that they begin using the practical activities and teaching tools the very same day as the training — often noticing positive changes in classroom tone, transitions and student engagement straight away.

Schools that work with Wildflower Well-Being report:

  • Greater teacher confidence in responding to behaviour and stress

  • More consistent approaches to regulation across classrooms

  • Calmer classroom environments with fewer escalations and smoother transitions

  • Improved classroom climate, enhanced student engagement and increased learning readiness

  • Teachers feeling supported, resourced and equipped — not overwhelmed or overloaded

Because the training is grounded in real classroom experience, tools feel realistic, relevant and sustainable, supporting long-term change rather than short-lived initiatives.

"Laura is one of the most knowledgeable people I have ever come across in any field and exudes tons of passion for what she does; which is evident in how she talks about and teaches this practice.

You will learn more than you may even be able to handle, but will come out of it feeling confident to teach right away, which is rare in my personal experience!

Enjoy yourself and the experience for all it has to offer!"

Tailored CPD for Schools

All Wildflower CPD programs are custom-designed to meet the needs of each school community.

Rather than offering one-size-fits-all workshops, we work closely with school leaders to understand:

  • Your school context and student population

  • The age ranges and experience of your staff

  • Current challenges and priorities

  • Whether training is delivered in Hong Kong, overseas or online

This allows CPD to be relevant, responsive, and genuinely supportive — rather than another initiative that feels disconnected from daily classroom realities.

Delivery Options

CPD can be delivered as:

  • In-person training in Hong Kong

  • In-person training overseas

  • Live online workshops or series

  • One-off sessions or ongoing programs

Content, length and format are shaped collaboratively to suit your school’s needs.

If you’re interested in exploring Professional Development for your school, we invite you to get in touch for a conversation about your needs and priorities.
